The good-faith pay range for this role is $45,000 - $64,400 per year. Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.

 

 

What your job will be like:

The incumbent will support the installation, repair, and maintenance of systems within the Accelerator Instrumentation and Controls Support Group (AESICS). Under the direction of senior staff, responsibilities include providing project support across all I&C systems, offering technical guidance for installations, and troubleshooting diagnostic systems. The role also contributes to accelerator improvement initiatives and requires rotational on‑call support during scheduled accelerator operations

In this job you will:

  • Provide hardware support for accelerator diagnostic system installations
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
  • Provide technical support for the modification, upgrade, and testing of electronic prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems.
  • Perform component‑level diagnostics and troubleshooting of system spares in support of accelerator operations
  • Provide on call support for accelerator operations
  • Perform duties safely and in full compliance with all JLAB safety standards

Experience

  • Required: 2 or more years Relevant Experience

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience and Education Exchange

Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience. Relevant experience may not be substituted for education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to communicate clearly in writing (e.g. email, memos, explanations, drawings) and explain work to his/her supervisor and others in the group.
  • Can work effectively with peers.
  • Familiarity with fundamental electronic principles
  • Proficient in using standard hand tools and digital multimeters
