The good-faith pay range for this role is $91,800 - $131,900 per year. Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.
What your job will be like:
In this job you will:
- Responsible for supporting conventional facilities capital project managers with daily management, coordination, and successful completion of assigned projects to meet time and cost objectives with respect to safety, quality and scheduling.
- In conjunction with the Project Manger, collaborates with stakeholders to document project objectives, requirements, and key performance parameters.
- Safely achieves project requirements on time and on budget including DOE Notable Outcomes, milestones, performance and technical requirements, and key performance parameters.
- Engages stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify hazards, potential environmental impacts and coordinates the development of plans and controls for their mitigation throughout the project life cycle.
- Utilizes project management tools to track and report project cost estimation, cost updates, change control, and contingency draw-down as appropriate.
- Monitors contractor performance and identifies opportunities to improve quality and lower cost.
- Enforces the Laboratory EH&S requirements in the execution of all assigned duties. Reports/corrects unsafe conditions. Maintains an environmentally sound and safe workplace for area of responsibility.

- Identify adverse trends and project issues and implements timely and effective recovery plan(s).
Experience
- Required: 4 or more years Experience managing complex design and construction projects. Construction or building maintenance project management experience relates to overall control of a project’s budget, scope and schedule. And
- Preferred: Experience with DOE project management system requirements and practices. And
- Preferred: Experience in managing projects using an Earned Valued Management System (EVMS). And
- Preferred: Experience with Primavera scheduling software, or equivalent.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Related Field
Experience and Education Exchange
Licenses and Certifications
- Preferred: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI PMP
- Preferred: Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong construction capital and maintenance knowledge for scientific laboratory facilities and campus site utilities.
- Strong project leadership, supervisory, and analytical skills: ability to identify and resolve complex problems; make recommendations to management; and conduct risk analysis and to make timely, risk informed decisions.
- Knowledge of work breakdown structure (WBS), sequencing, resource loading and other cost/schedule controls.
- Excellent Computer skills (PC/Mac). Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel using advanced excel functions, Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
- Ability to direct/coordinate work among teams, groups with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
- Ability to assess approaches, methods and procedures, training, etc. to develop and/or creating new or more effective way to manage and run construction and maintenance projects.
- In depth knowledge of construction and industrial safety practices.
- Demonstrated competency in the areas of estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field supervision, financial reporting, client relationship, interpersonal skills, computer skills, safety/insurance, ability to communicate both written and oral

- Required: OSHA 10 Certification
